B Meet: CSR@GM, TUESDAY 6/25

We’ll be hosting Cheverly for a B meet this Tuesday, June 25th, at GAFC. For those unfamiliar, B meets do not count in the official league standings. Swimmers who have placed 1st or 2nd in an event so far this summer will not swim in that event (although they may swim in a higher age group). Relays will not be run.

Report time is 5:20 pm. Upon arrival, swimmers should check in with the coaches before warmups. If there is a last minute reason a swimmer cannot attend (sick, running late, etc.) please let us know (greenbeltswim@gmail.com).

IMPORTANT: NO GLASS CONTAINERS. Broken glass is a safety hazard, especially with close quarters and so many barefoot swimmers.

Other notes:

  1. Set-up will begin at 5 pm.
  2. Concessions will be open and selling, among other things, pizza and sodas. Please see below for the link to donate!
  3. Enter the pool through the side gate off the asphalt path running from the parking lot. Please do not enter through the building.

Our next meet is this coming Saturday, June 22nd, at GAFC. We will be hosting the team from P.G. Parks and Recreation.

IMPORTANT: Report time is 7:15 am. Upon arrival, swimmers should check in with the coaches before warmups. If there is a last minute reason a swimmer cannot attend (sick, running late, etc.) please let us know!

Other notes:

  1. It will be hot on Saturday. Most of the team’s canopies will be used for timers, clerk of course, and concessions. If your family has a canopy, consider bringing it.
  2. Again, it will be hot. Bring water and be prepared.
  3. Enter the pool through the side gate off the asphalt path running from the parking lot. Do not enter through the building.
  4. There will be a Pee-Wee race during the break between events 46 and 47. Any Developmentals who wish to participate should arrive by 11.
  5. NO GLASS CONTAINERS. Broken glass is a safety hazard, especially with close quarters and so many barefoot swimmers.
  6. Due to a Family Fun Night on Friday, pool setup will begin at 6 am on Saturday morning.

Finally, after the meet the team traditionally convenes at Three Brothers Restaurant in Beltway Plaza. Everyone is welcome!

GMST Tie-Dye and Ice Cream Event!

Our annual team Tie-Dye Event will be held at Severn Crossing Poolon June 19th (Juneteenth!), next to the pool, from 6-8PM. Morning practice at GAFC is cancelled on 6/19, but we will hold our regular practice at Severn Crossing from 6:45-8PM.

We’ll have some cold treats and provide tie-dye materials and instructions for all interested. Bring your GMST t-shirt (or another shirt) to decorate! Old clothing (or an apron) is suggested.
